About the role
Software/Robotics Engineer role for a project building a full robotics stack for an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), onsite in Munich with hybrid work arrangement. Involves simulation, navigation, localization, robot behaviors, tooling, and hands-on field work with hardware and clients.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of a full robotics stack, covering simulation, navigation, localization, robot behaviors, and internal tooling
- Perform testing and tuning of complex navigation systems directly on the AGV, on-site
- Work together with the client's fleet manager on the robot's perception stack
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, networking, and embedded electronics issues on the robot in real time
- Potential to manage a team and its resources as the project scales
- Participate in the design and implementation of solutions for challenging customer and R&D problems
- Travel for 1–2 week periods for on-site deployments when required
- Pass on your passion for technology and professionalism to your peers
- Be receptive and empathetic with your team and technical communities
Qualifications
- Strong experience (+4 years) with ROS or ROS2
- Strong experience (+5 years) coding in modern C++ (17+) and Python 3
- Working knowledge of networking and electronics
- Experience with Docker / containerized applications
- Hold a degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience working with real robots (not just simulation)
- Ability to independently tackle mid-sized software development tasks across the stack
- Comfortable in technical discussions and can propose solutions
- Solid technical English, spoken and written
