About the role

Engineer on Apple’s Product Security Team focusing on securing iOS, tvOS, watchOS and macOS by investigating security issues, developing tools, and collaborating with engineering teams to safeguard Apple’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Assess security vulnerabilities and contribute to tool development for security operations
  • Develop and maintain security automation systems using languages such as C, C++, Objective C
  • Contribute to tool suite for external security submissions, triage/routing, and AI-powered security operations
  • Reverse engineer exploits and provide analysis on vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address software security issues
  • Develop or leverage security tooling (fuzzers, static/dynamic analyzers, vulnerability management platforms)
  • Apply production deployment practices (containerization, CI/CD, monitoring)
  • Investigate security issues using systematic approaches and tooling
  • Communicate effectively across diverse technical teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (C, C++, Objective C)
  • Familiarity with AI capabilities and their security applications (e.g., function calling)
  • Experience with production deployment using containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools
  • Proven ability to analyze and investigate security issues with tooling
  • Understanding of security principles including vulnerability classes, exploit techniques, and attack vectors
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
  • Experience developing or leveraging security tools (fuzzers, static/dynamic analyzers, vulnerability management platforms)
  • Field experience in vulnerability research, incident response, or security operations
  • Track record of shipping tools to large enterprise user bases
