About the role

APO Logistics Manager based in Shanghai, leading the APO Log team to manage OEM back-dock operations in China/Southeast Asia, in-country/region road transportation, and Air/Sea/Rail freight from various gateways. Responsible for key metrics, supplier management (OEMs and 3PLs), and ensuring compliant, cost-effective, and sustainable logistics with a focus on NPI and confidential shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strategies and tactical plans to scale and support the team structure and business needs within APO, regional, and WW Logistics Team.
  • Develop worldwide project/execution plans to support volume surges and NPI launches; ensure supplier compliance with Apple HS R/FSR and Secure-Ship Operations.
  • Interface closely with Worldwide/Regional Logistics team on daily operations; update on logistics risks, challenges, and developments within China.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess supplier KPIs and implement operational improvements across the supply chain.
  • Commit to operational excellence in achieving on-time shipment execution at origin and maintaining product confidentiality (zero loss, zero disclosure) for all NPI shipments.
  • Engage and guide new suppliers onboarding (OEMs, freight forwarders, 3PLs); work on cost savings and carbon footprint reduction through process and packaging improvements.
  • Conduct impromptu freight forwarder warehouse security audits to ensure compliance with Apple’s HSR & FSR requirements.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure Apple’s FG s & AppleCares TDM & SOPs are met.
  • Develop and optimize logistics networking to achieve the shortest inbound material cycle time.
  • Travel as required on short notice to international or domestic cities to support APO Logistics requirements.

Qualifications

  • BA degree with minimum 3-5 years of proven logistics & supply chain experience or equivalent.
  • Prefer broader knowledge of freight management (bulk, parcel, ocean, domestic/cross-border) and data analysis/system development knowledge.
  • Concrete people management and group development experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with teams.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic/global freight markets, industry benchmarking, and logistics networking relationships with major freight contributors.
  • Strong vendor management skills with major 3PLs.
  • Creative thinking with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to learn advanced analytics and lead continuous process improvement, cost-saving, and Green Logistics leveraging AI/ML & RPA.
  • Proactive, innovative, leadership-oriented; adaptable to fast-paced logistics environments.
  • Ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams, handle ambiguity, and manage risk and uncertainty.
  • BCP readiness for business continuity and sustainability; development of individual development plans and career paths for team members.
  • Strong communication skills in English & Mandarin; additional languages a plus.
