About the role

Lead a team of ML engineers focused on building new capabilities and delivering quality improvements for Visual Generation foundation models. Drive data excellence for foundation model training, collaborate with cross-functional teams, stay at the forefront of AI research, and ship state-of-the-art technology within Apple’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of ML engineers focused on building new capabilities and delivering step-change quality improvements for Visual Generation foundation models.
  • Drive data excellence for foundation model training using billion-scale datasets, data enrichment through ML models, and quality-focused data curation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including ML research, modeling, policy, and responsible AI teams to maintain high standards of execution and safety.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI research to rapidly apply impactful developments and pioneer proprietary ideas for Apple’s ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience as an ML Manager leading teams in modern computer vision and generative AI research
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects, mentoring engineers, and fostering growth
  • 8+ years of experience training state-of-the-art generative or understanding models
  • Proficiency in ML frameworks and distributed data processing pipelines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to drive clarity in ambiguity
  • Hands-on research experience with data and model building
  • Recent projects in modern visual generative AI for images or videos
  • Strong industrial research track record with delivery of complex projects or publications in top-tier venues
