About the role

Finance transformation lead focused on Payment Modernization to architect and deliver a modern in-house payment platform enabling real-time payments, multi-rail routing, and multi-currency disbursements across Apple’s global business. Responsible for strategy, business cases, and end-to-end program delivery in a complex, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Payment Modernization Program. Own end-to-end finance strategy and execution of Apple's payment modernization initiative; design and deliver the payment engine and foundational architecture for routing, timing, and rails across all Apple lines of business.
  • Partner with internal payments teams, assess models, evaluate service providers, and navigate multi-jurisdiction regulatory landscapes.
  • Define and own the payments transformation roadmap with a multi-year vision; translate strategy into executable programs with measurable outcomes; ensure portfolio prioritization aligns with business objectives.
  • Own the full lifecycle of large-scale payment and finance transformation initiatives from requirements gathering and architecture design through implementation, UAT, deployment, and adoption.
  • Maintain rigorous program governance (scope, timeline, risk, budget); apply Agile/hybrid delivery frameworks and standardize delivery across the portfolio.
  • Champion business case development for payment modernization; collaborate with business partners and coordinate the business case.
  • Partner with services teams to understand payment requirements; design the engine as a reusable platform for future lines of business, geographies, and payment modalities.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with product managers, delivery leads, EPMs, engineering leads, Treasury, and services; communicate complex programs and roadmaps to CFO staff.
  • Navigate payments regulation and compliance; embed regulatory requirements from the ground up; collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Compliance.
  • Apply treasury and tax expertise to payment design (cash management, liquidity, FX, intercompany; withholding, VAT, transfer pricing) and align engine with downstream financial requirements.
  • Ensure alignment of payment modernization with domain leads and cross-functional dependencies across the transformation portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years leading complex, large-scale payments, treasury, or finance transformation programs at enterprise scale
  • 7+ years of technical product/program management experience within payments, financial services, FinTech, or enterprise finance organizations
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale payment system implementations or financial infrastructure modernization
  • Experience in payments, treasury, and/or financial services; ability to apply to payment modernization programs
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or related field
