About the role

Apple IS&T is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to design, analysis, and certification of applications. The role focuses on quality, lightweight processes, and collaboration with multi-functional teams to test features, perform root cause analysis, and drive customer experience quality across Apple systems and software.

Responsibilities

  • Create test cases/test plans/strategy based on product requirements, user journeys, and technical designs.
  • Execute exploratory, functional, end-to-end, regression, and integration testing as required.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QE engineers to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Good understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and automation practices.
  • Experience using GenAI tools for quality engineering tasks.
  • Investigate test failures and product defects, perform root-cause analysis, and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Identify repetitive testing activities that can be improved through AI-assisted automation.
  • Experience using GenAI tools such as ClaudeCode, GeminiCLI to improve software testing productivity.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers and product teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to solve quality engineering challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-2 years experience in software quality engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
  • Experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright/Selenium, Appium.
  • Experience in testing Web, API, iOS/iPad OS native applications.
