About the role

Senior software engineer role focusing on clean, well-tested TypeScript with a interest in functional programming. Work across two production applications (Node.js and Elixir) to build features used by engineers and operations teams at Apple. Emphasis on learning new paradigms, test-driven development, and collaboration with product designers and domain experts.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, well-tested TypeScript and learn/apply functional programming concepts.
  • Build and maintain features across two production applications (Node.js and Elixir).
  • Write tests, provide substantive feedback in code reviews, and debug production issues using monitoring and logging tools.
  • Translate complex operational workflows into clear, maintainable software with early engineer involvement in design.
  • Collaborate with product designers, domain experts, and other engineers to translate requirements into software solutions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in a senior software role working across the entire web stack.
  • 5+ years writing production JavaScript or TypeScript SPAs using React or similar, across stack (SQL, API, UI).
  • 4+ years building and maintaining robust HTTP APIs and backend services.
  • 4+ years developing complex applications with SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.) at medium scale.
  • Familiarity with functional programming concepts (Elixir, Haskell, Clojure, Scala, or strong interest in learning).
  • Discipline in writing tests and focus on code quality and maintainability.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in technical environments.
