About the role

Hardware System Integrator role within Apple Vision Pro, focusing on selecting components, schematic/layout, bring-up, debugging, and validation of high-volume hardware for a revolutionary spatial computer. Works with cross-functional teams across multiple Apple sites, including domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Select components, design schematics, direct layout, and bring up / debug circuits in the lab
  • Collaborate with partner teams to realize prototypes for product definition and user testing
  • Define test criteria and execute test plans on functional prototypes to demonstrate design robustness
  • Work with a distributed team across multiple Apple sites; occasional domestic and international travel
  • Utilize state-of-the-art test equipment to characterize circuits
  • Mentor and collaborate with others, providing expertise and teaching as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals
  • 3+ years hardware development engineering in a team environment
  • Experience with schematic capture & layout review
  • Experience in prototyping, bring-up, debug and validation
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience designing high-volume products from concept to mass production with contract manufacturers
  • Experience as a technical lead and/or mentoring team members
  • Ability to understand product tradeoffs (power, performance) and optimize designs to meet requirements
  • Working knowledge of embedded systems with tight constraints (power, size)
  • Knowledge in CPU/SOC, power (DC-DC converters, battery, power management, low power design), analog circuits, wireless systems, sensor design and integration
  • Experience working with mechanical design and software development teams
  • Experience with high-speed and low-speed digital interfaces
  • Experience in electrical CAD tools (Cadence Concept and Allegro)
  • Excellent written skills for clear data analysis reporting
