About the role

Finance Analyst role within a small finance function at MyEdSpace, a UK education technology platform. Focus on month-end close, budgeting/forecasting, cash flow, cost analysis, and end-to-end finance operations with opportunities to own financial modelling and interact with leadership, board, and investors.

Responsibilities

  • Be a core part of a small finance function, reporting to the Finance Manager with exposure to leadership, board, and investors
  • Deliver management accounts and maintain a predictable reporting rhythm for leadership decisions
  • Run month-end close to produce management accounts for senior stakeholders
  • Build and maintain budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes to inform company strategy
  • Analyze and interpret business costs and performance against plan, providing actionable insights
  • own finance operations including payroll and payments
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for year-end audit, statutory reporting and compliance calendar
  • Prepare analysis and materials for the board and investors, with potential ownership of the financial model over time
  • Identify bottlenecks in the finance function and implement better processes and automation
  • Design and embed controls and routines to enable scaling without headcount growth
  • Manage relationships with external partners supporting the finance function

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years at a Big 4 or another leading mid-tier firm, or in a finance team in industry
  • Part qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Strong command of financial statements, reporting, and underlying accounting
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets with strong financial modelling ability
  • Commercially minded with ability to communicate complex financial movements to non-finance audiences
  • Inquisitive and analytical with strong problem-solving and numerical skills
  • Desire to automate and improve processes
  • Comfortable in ambiguous environments with changing priorities
  • Strong organisational skills with track record of meeting deadlines
  • Experience with Xero or similar accounting software (preferred)
  • Familiarity with data and reporting tools (advantage)
  • Self-motivated and autonomous working style
