About the role
AI-powered research desk for hedge funds Trata is seeking a Marketplace Operations Manager to own core marketplace processes and drive growth by increasing supply and demand for buyside conversations on tickers. In-person role based in New York City, seed-stage startup with high autonomy and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own matching, outreach, scheduling, moderation, and post-call processing between users on a ticker.
- Understand current processes by doing it, then streamline and automate with engineering.
- Treat onboarded users as a working list: follow up, reactivate quiet supply, fill demand that would otherwise die.
- Establish and run pre- and post-call compliance to scale volume while maintaining trust.
- Keep transcription and post-call processing on time; manage contractors as volume moves.
- Over time: grow call engagement (activation, retention, completed calls per week).
- Own the scorecard (requests → outreach → reply → confirm → completed call → repeat use) and identify missing metrics.
- Run experiments on call type, ask, and timing to improve completed calls or quality.
- Build relationships with high-value users; automate workflows and collaborate with engineering on product features to relieve bottlenecks.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of high-ownership operational experience producing transactions (e.g., a match, a call, a booked meeting).
- High ownership mindset with ability to take problems from discovery to measurable impact.
- High agency to navigate ambiguous processes and find a path forward.
- Comfort working in the weeds first, then documenting playbooks, then automating and iterating.
- Experience leveraging AI for speed while maintaining rigorous understanding of the domain.
- Based in NYC or willing to relocate; availability to work 55-65 hours per week.
