About the role

Senior individual contributor responsible for designing and delivering white space infrastructure within CoreWeave’s data center portfolio, coordinating with internal teams and third-party consultants to ensure scalable, standardized, and constructable white space designs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review white space layouts, infrastructure designs, specifications, details, and engineering documentation.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of CoreWeave’s White Space Basis of Design, technical standards, and reference designs.
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of high-density power distribution, liquid- and air-cooling systems, equipment layouts, containment systems, and low-voltage pathways.
  • Design and coordinate white space electrical systems, including PDUs, RPPs, busways, branch circuits, rack power distribution, grounding, and associated infrastructure.
  • Design and coordinate white space mechanical systems, including remote CDUs, liquid-cooling distribution, fan walls, hot aisle containment, and other high-density cooling solutions.
  • Review structured cabling systems, ladder rack, cable tray, overhead conveyance, and network pathways in coordination with Network Engineering.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, equipment submittals, RFIs, design changes, and field conditions for compliance with project requirements and CoreWeave standards.
  • Identify design gaps, constructability concerns, operational risks, and multidisciplinary conflicts, and develop practical solutions in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to third-party design consultants to ensure their work meets project requirements, applicable codes, and CoreWeave standards.
  • Support projects during construction, commissioning, and deployment by responding to technical questions and resolving field-related design issues.
  • Participate in design workshops, coordination meetings, constructability reviews, and lessons-learned sessions.
  • Apply lessons learned across projects to improve design quality, repeatability, speed, and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing design organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Network, Low Voltage/Cabling, or related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in data center design, mission-critical infrastructure engineering, or white space design leadership.
  • Direct experience with data center white space infrastructure systems, including PDUs, RPPs, busways, branch circuits, hot aisle containment systems, remote CDUs, fan walls, and high-density cooling strategies.
  • Experience working as a consulting engineer, design consultant, or owner’s representative overseeing third-party design consultants.
  • Documented knowledge of low-voltage infrastructure systems, including structured cabling, ladder rack, cable tray systems, overhead conveyance, and network pathway coordination.
  • Documentation & Review: experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and design change documentation.
  • Software Proficiency: hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Asana, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms.
  • Industry Standards: knowledge of data center design standards and guidelines (TIA-942, BICSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, Uptime Institute).
