About the role

Bedrock is hiring its first Global Logistics Specialist to own the worldwide movement of Bedrock's equipment and shipments related to Ops Kits from the Richmond facility, build the logistics function, and scale operations internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global movement of Bedrock's equipment, including Ops Kits, end to end: plan and execute shipments to and from job sites anywhere we operate; know where every kit and every case is at all times; build lead time, contingency, and backup plans before they’re asked for.
  • Solve hard shipping problems (e.g., urgent parts, border wait times, new country routes).
  • Own international shipping end to end: Carnets, commercial invoices, HS classification, customs documentation; evaluate, recommend, negotiate with freight forwarders and carriers; manage carrier performance.
  • Be Bedrock's authority on import/export rules: stay current across jurisdictions; navigate ITAR and export-controlled shipments; keep compliance without delaying shipments.
  • Own dangerous goods shipping: lithium batteries and other dangerous goods, ensuring proper certifications, packaging, and documentation.
  • Own all shipping and receiving for the Richmond facility: pack to arrive in same condition; receive, inspect, route, and keep area organized.
  • Design systems that don’t exist yet: shipment tracking and visibility; customs/documentation playbooks by country; dangerous goods/export-control procedures; carrier scorecards and cost benchmarks; lead-time standards.
  • Scale the function as the footprint expands beyond US, UK, and EU; keep production, operations, and leadership informed about shipments, landings, and risks.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on logistics, shipping and receiving, or supply chain work
  • International shipping experience, including ATA carnets and customs clearance
  • Working knowledge of international import and export rules and regulations
  • Dangerous goods shipping experience; lithium battery experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with ITAR and export-controlled shipments
  • Established relationships with major international carriers and freight forwarders
  • Nice to have: Dangerous Goods Shipping Certificate; ITAR Certification; experience supporting hardware, robotics, or field equipment logistics; experience building/improving a logistics function at an early-stage company
