About the role
Power IP and System Validation Engineer focused on post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of analog and mixed-signal power-management IP for AMD products. Collaborates across silicon, firmware, systems, and validation teams to optimize power-management features and ensure high-quality delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation of analog and mixed-signal power-management IP, including integrated voltage regulators, low-dropout regulators, system-monitoring sensors, and power-gating controllers.
- Develop and execute characterization plans to evaluate IP performance against specifications across voltage, frequency, temperature, and process conditions.
- Analyze silicon measurement data and tune IP operating parameters, including voltage-frequency curves, voltage margins, power-gating sequences, and oscillator calibration.
- Develop and maintain firmware routines and control algorithms that configure and operate power-management IP during boot, runtime, and power-state transitions.
- Debug silicon failures and performance shortfalls by correlating laboratory measurements, firmware traces, register activity, RTL behavior, and schematic-level design information.
- Partner with analog mixed-signal design, RTL, platform firmware, validation, and production teams to resolve characterization findings and support engineering change orders when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
