About the role

Infrastructure Firmware / DevOps engineer responsible for end-to-end delivery of platform firmware infrastructure features, including CI/CD, pre/post-silicon environments, and security enhancements within AMD’s Platform FW Quality group. Leadership role with hands-on contribution and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end to end delivery of infrastructure firmware features or projects, from scoping and design through implementation, validation, and release
  • Drive architectural and design decisions, author and review design specifications and technical proposals
  • Act as the primary technical owner for assigned areas, ensuring correctness, robustness, and long term maintainability
  • Debug and resolve complex, cross component issues in pre-silicon and post-silicon environments
  • Lead by influence: drive alignment, set technical direction, and unblock execution across teams
  • Mentor and guide junior and midlevel engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and day to day technical coaching
  • Set a high bar for engineering excellence, development discipline, and quality
  • Partner with program managers, architects, validation, and other firmware teams to identify dependencies, risks, and execution gaps
  • Proactively track progress, surface issues early, and drive them to closure
  • Balance short term delivery needs with long term technical health

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with emphasis on product development
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipeline Engineering (GitHub Actions/Jenkins): modular workflows, dynamic matrices, event-driven automation, concurrency/queue controls
  • Experience with multi-stage build & validation pipelines (pre-merge gates, post-merge checks, nightly regressions)
  • Automation scripting & tooling integration (Python, Bash/Shell, PowerShell)
  • Reliability, performance & CI observability (pipeline optimization, telemetry)
  • Security, secrets management & governance in CI/CD
  • Proficiency with Software in C/C++ or scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby)
  • Cloud infrastructure experience - Azure, AKS
  • Linux command line, Networking (TCP/IP)
  • Low-level programming and debugging interest/experience
  • Embedded C is a plus
  • Mentoring or technical leadership experience
  • Software signing and crypto algorithms experience is a plus
  • Software security tooling, scanning and analysis
