About the role

Data Center Site Services Manager leading a team of Data Center Technicians to install, service, repair, maintain, and decommission network, storage, and compute assets in Apple’s data centers. Partners with planning, facilities, and cross-functional teams to ensure environment uptime and ongoing capacity expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, repair, support, maintenance, and decommissioning of network, storage, and compute assets in data centers.
  • Partner with planning teams on installation forecasts and IT cabinet builds.
  • Manage and report on space and power consumption.
  • Interact with the local Data Center Facility Manager to ensure environment uptime.
  • Collaborate with internal business groups and support teams (Operations Center and Engineering) on process improvements and monitoring/issue resolution.
  • Keep services online while continuing to install capacity.
  • Provide reporting on KPIs, define team goals for efficiency, manage assets, and lead a team of data center technicians.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing or leading employees and/or a contingent workforce in a data center or equivalent environment.
  • Experience working in an IT environment in areas of installation, delivery, or operations management.
  • Experience working with servers, storage hardware, or network hardware.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience encouraged.
  • Understanding of data center power and cooling principles.
  • Strategic problem solving with awareness of how data center functions intersect.
  • Ability to inspire, coach, train, and develop personnel for extraordinary customer service and results.
  • Ability to forge collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messages to audience.
  • Experience presenting technical information detailing specific projects or schedules.
