About the role

TFT process engineer role focused on overseeing TFT backplane processes, from research and development to mass production, with emphasis on AI-assisted simulations, virtual prototyping, failure analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to advance TFT technologies for Apple displays.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee unit process and integration of TFT architecture from research to mass production
  • Conduct AI-assisted simulations and characterizations related to TFT structural and device performance
  • Perform failure analysis and develop corrective actions with interdisciplinary teams
  • Develop virtual stack-ups via process simulations to accelerate DFMEA/PFMEA and provide design guidance on film characteristics and reliability
  • Incorporate AI-driven models and EDA tools to model TFT behaviors and lifetime degradation
  • Collaborate with display manufacturers from development to mass production
  • Conduct fundamental studies to identify future TFT candidates and technologies
  • Collaborate with Display Optics, Touch, Display EE, Mechanical Engineering and other cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Physics
  • TFT industry experience
  • Proficiency written and verbal communication skills
  • Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Physics (preferred)
  • MS degree in relevant disciplines plus 4 years TFT industry experience (preferred)
  • Hands-on, in-depth technical knowledge and proven track record in TFT technology development (preferred)
  • Strong device physics background on a-Si, oxide and LTPS (preferred)
  • Understanding of display manufacturing, yield improvement and reliability requirements (preferred)
