About the role

GNSS hardware systems engineer role within Apple’s GNSS team, focused on designing and modeling GNSS signal processing hardware, balancing ultra-low power with strong performance, and collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver robust GNSS receivers for Apple products.

Responsibilities

  • Architect the GNSS digital signal processing hardware.
  • Hardware specification and modeling in MATLAB/C++/SystemC.
  • Work closely with digital design and firmware teams to translate requirements into detailed design specifications and test vectors, review their implementation and verification.
  • Hardware architecture study for future generation GNSS development.

Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 10+ years relevant industry experience is required.
  • Strong background in wireless communications space with focus on digital hardware system design, e.g. GNSS, Connectivity, Cellular.
  • Familiarity with digital communication, signal processing, spread spectrum system, or systems theory.
  • MSEE or beyond is preferred.
  • 5+ years of proven experiences in GNSS baseband signal processing is preferred.
  • Proficiency with wireless communications system modeling and estimation theory.
  • Solid programming skills in MATLAB/C++/SystemC.
  • Good understanding of VLSI implementation, architecture and power optimization.
  • Healthy combination of innovation attitude and understanding of practical constraints of product development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal especially in a multi-functional environment.
