About the role

Apple IS&T is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to design, analysis and certification of applications. The role involves testing features, root cause analysis, and driving quality across web, API, and mobile applications, with automation and CI/CD integration to improve testing efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Understand feature implementations to craft robust testing charters
  • Author and review test scenarios, scripts and plans
  • Conduct functional, regression, performance, and security testing using automation tools
  • Identify and report defects with root cause analysis and reproducible steps
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, and test cases for web, API, and mobile applications
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
  • Implement CI/CD pipeline integration to enhance automated testing execution
  • Analyze test results, report defects, and track issues
  • Continuously improve test automation frameworks and testing efficiency
  • Champion quality efforts beyond test execution across teams (test automation, product, engineering)

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in software quality assurance testing
  • 2+ years of automation experience with Java, Python, Swift, or any OO language
  • Experience in testing API/Web Services, Web apps, or Mac/iOS/iPadOS native apps
  • Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, Karate, RestAssured, Playwright/Selenium, Appium/XCUI or similar frameworks
  • Knowledge of automation framework architecture, design and development
  • Expertise in QE processes, tools and metrics
  • Experience with Maven/Gradle and Git
  • Experience in Agile development
  • Understanding of build tools, CI/CD integrations, deployment processes and code quality tools
  • Experience in testing microservices and cloud-based applications
  • Understanding of log scanning for root cause analysis; strong debugging and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience with Load/Resiliency/Performance testing (JMeter/Gatling/Locust)
  • Experience in testing AI/ML applications, Security and Accessibility testing (beneficial)
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is beneficial
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Experience building leveraging AI-driven test automation and AI/ML evaluation concepts (beneficial)
