About the role

Siri-language engineering role focused on Norwegian users within Global Siri. Responsible for end-to-end ML/GenAI solutions, data-driven experimentation, and scalable software to deliver personalized, culturally relevant Siri experiences for Norwegian users. Acts as technical anchor for the Norwegian market, coordinating large-scale ML and GenAI initiatives across teams and Apple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead work streams to design and implement large-scale ML and GenAI solutions for Norwegian market
  • Serve as technical anchor for the Norwegian market within Global Siri
  • Architect and implement end-to-end solutions spanning ML, data, and software engineering
  • Leverage LLMs, agentic approaches, data generation methods to build real-world systems
  • Collaborate with partner teams across Apple to account for international market nuances
  • Propose architectural solutions and contribute to production-grade codebases
  • Work across multiple disciplines including ML, NLP, data experiments, and scalable software engineering
  • Focus on end-user experience and product-level outcomes

Qualifications

  • Professional-level fluency in Norwegian, with deep cultural familiarity
  • Experience applying machine learning and NLP techniques to products; solid ML concepts
  • Strong software design and programming skills across paradigms; experience with large production codebases
  • Experience working with data at scale: building/curating datasets, analyzing results, data-driven decisions
  • Hands-on experience with large language models: fine-tuning, prompt/context engineering, evaluation, inference optimization; agentic systems, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation
  • Experience with speech technologies such as ASR, TTS, or pronunciation modeling
  • Experience adapting models/products across languages and markets; multilingual/cross-lingual modeling, transfer learning, or low-resource settings
  • Ability to formulate research problems, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions
  • Product focus with strong emphasis on end-user experience
  • Experience writing software in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C; Apple platform experience preferred
  • M.S., Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
