About the role

Siri Global Siri team seeks a Language Engineer with deep Polish expertise to shape Siri for Polish users. Role spans ML, NLP, software engineering, and GenAI; focuses on end-to-end ML/GenAI solutions, data experimentation, and scalable software to deliver culturally relevant experiences for Polish users.

Responsibilities

  • Lead work streams to design and implement large-scale ML and GenAI solutions for the Polish market
  • Act as the technical anchor for the Polish market within Siri, collaborating with partner teams across Apple
  • Leverage large language models (LLMs), agentic approaches, data generation methods to build end-to-end systems
  • Architect and propose solutions accounting for international market nuances to make Siri feel native to Polish users
  • Work at the intersection of Machine Learning, Data, and Software Engineering to deliver personalized user experiences

Qualifications

  • Professional-level fluency in Polish with deep familiarity with Polish culture and idiom
  • Experience applying machine learning and NLP techniques to deliver products; solid understanding of ML concepts
  • Strong software design and programming skills across paradigms, with experience contributing to large production code bases
  • Experience working with data at scale: building/curating datasets, analyzing results, data-driven decision making
  • Hands-on experience with large language models: fine-tuning, prompt/context engineering, evaluation, inference optimization; agentic systems, tool calling, or retrieval-augmented generation
  • Experience with speech technologies such as ASR, TTS, or pronunciation modeling
  • Experience adapting models/products across languages and markets (multilingual/cross-lingual, transfer learning, low-resource settings)
  • Ability to formulate research problems, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions
  • Product-focused with strong emphasis on end-user experience
  • Experience writing software in Python, Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C; Apple platform experience preferred
  • M.S., Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
