About the role

TFT process engineer to lead unit process and integration of TFT architectures from research to mass production, focusing on AI-assisted simulations, virtual prototyping, failure analysis, and cross-functional collaboration for TFT backplanes and display technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the unit process and integration of TFT architecture from research to mass production
  • Conduct AI-assisted simulations and characterizations related to structural and device performance of TFTs
  • Perform failure analysis and collaborate with multiple disciplines to navigate solutions
  • Develop AI-driven automated workflows with TCAD and FEA tools to accelerate device physics and mechanical property analysis
  • Construct realistic virtual stack-ups through process simulation for faster DFMEA/PFMEA and provide design guidance on film characteristics and reliability
  • AI-incorporate failure analysis and characterization to identify root causes and corrective actions
  • Deploy AI-enhanced compact models (SPICE/Verilog-A) to capture TFT behaviors and lifetime degradation
  • Responsible for TFT process of various TFT backplanes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Display Optics, Touch, Display EE and Mechanical Engineering
  • Collaborate with display manufacturers from development to mass production stage
  • Pursue fundamental study to identify future TFT technologies as candidate developments

Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • TFT industry experience
  • Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Physics
  • MS degree in above mentioned disciplines plus 4 years of TFT industry experience
  • Hands-on, in-depth technical knowledge, and proven track record on development of various TFT technologies
  • Strong device physics background on various TFT technologies: a-Si, oxide and LTPS
  • Sound understanding of overall display manufacturing control, yield improvement and reliability requirements
  • Proficiency written and verbal communication skills
