About the role

Engineer to test and optimize power and power efficiency on all new Mac technologies, delivering outstanding battery life and improving energy efficiency through cross-functional collaboration across software, QA, hardware, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting power data on all in-development Mac platforms
  • Driving bug fixes and power optimizations to ensure that all new Mac products meet their battery life and power targets
  • Identifying, isolating, and root causing problem areas using debugging and data analysis skills
  • Designing tests to assess power impact of new HW/SW features
  • Continuously improving test coverage, methodology, and efficiency

Qualifications

  • BS EE/CS or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1 year of experience in QA, Quality or Testing environment (Power QA preferred)
  • Understanding of computer architecture, operating system concepts, EE fundamentals, and concepts of power consumption and power management
  • Ability to dive deep technically, learn new technologies, and understand the small technical nuances of a system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting data to cross-functional teams and/or management
  • Experience in test planning, validation, uncovering issues, and driving issues to resolution with engineering teams
  • Coding and scripting experience to support basic automation and tool development (Python and shell preferred)
  • MS EE/CS
  • 2 years of experience in QA, Quality or Testing environment (Power QA preferred)
