About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms, techniques, and systems that push the frontier of deep learning and foundation models.

  • Identify and develop novel applications of deep learning in Apple products.
  • Ship features and publish ideas in papers and improve user experiences at scale.
  • Prototype ideas quickly, perform critical analysis, and explore creative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with globally distributed teams.

Qualifications

  • PhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Demonstrated expertise in deep learning with a publication record (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, ACL)
  • Deep understanding of multi-task, multi-modal machine learning
  • Proficient in Python and one of JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
  • Track record in applying deep learning techniques to shipping products
  • Experience with multi-modal perception for existing products and future hardware platforms
  • On-device intelligence and learning with strong privacy protections
  • Ability to prototype ideas quickly, perform critical analysis, and use creative problem-solving
  • Ability to collaborate with globally distributed teams
