About the role

Senior patent litigator to join Apple's IP litigation team, responsible for formulating and driving strategy, providing counsel to internal clients on patent litigation matters, and managing day-to-day progress of cases. Requires self-sufficiency, independent judgment, and a trial-focused approach with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for Apple’s patent litigation matters and issues
  • Formulate and drive strategy in patent litigation, not just monitor outside counsel
  • Provide counsel to internal clients on patent litigation topics
  • Manage day-to-day progress of patent cases
  • Identify and manage risks and exposures and find strategic opportunities for resolution
  • Operate as part of a team of lawyers, legal specialists and support staff to protect Apple’s interests

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of major law firm and/or in-house patent litigation experience
  • JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar
  • Strong technology interest and aptitude
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills
  • Preference for broad patent litigation experience, especially standard essential patent litigation and/or ITC experience
  • Trial experience strongly preferred
