About the role

Apple’s Display Technologies group seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop innovative display modules for future products, owning integration into robust display designs and driving cross-functional collaboration from development through production.

Responsibilities

  • Define the module mechanical architecture based on optical, electrical, mechanical, and cross-functional requirements; define product interfaces including fit, assembly features, and tolerance analyses; deliver specifications including 3D/2D.
  • Support the product through engineering development, mass-production ramp-up, and launch.
  • Achieve system goals through mechanical design optimization, prototyping, new material qualification, and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct factory audits to review manufacturing and assembly to ensure high yield and quality.
  • Define and implement validation plans for mechanical engineering characteristics of the display modules using scientific and analytical approaches.
  • Drive detailed failure analyses to reach robust corrective actions and communicate results to peers and leadership.
  • Ensure specifications are met throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Expertise in mechanical engineering fundamentals (materials properties, solid mechanics, beam statics, Newtonian physics, thermodynamics).
  • Experience leading mechanical design and validation.
  • 3D/2D software experience (Pro/E, NX, CATIA, or Solidworks).
  • Experience with diverse manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Failure analysis experience.
