About the role

DevOps Specialist to join Apple's global engineering team, shaping infrastructure for development workflows, automating deployment and maintenance, and collaborating with developers to deploy features while maintaining security and reliability. Follow-the-sun global operations with on-call and weekend support.

Responsibilities

  • Development Environment Management: Setup, configure, and maintain development environments that enable engineering teams to build, test, and ship reliably.
  • Expert-Level Technical Support: Provide deep technical investigations and root-cause analysis across the end-to-end application landscape to resolve complex issues.
  • Automation and Process Engineering: Automate manual tasks related to release deployments and system maintenance — turning repetitive operations into reliable, repeatable workflows.
  • Technology Evaluation: Investigate and introduce new technologies to enhance performance, scalability, security, and stability of the infrastructure.
  • Feature Deployment and Collaboration: Work closely with developers to design, deploy, and roll out new features and tool releases across the stack.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure build environments, secrets management, and access controls meet Apple’s security standards.
  • Global Operations and On-Call: Operate within a follow-the-sun model with asynchronous handoffs; provide weekend support for downtime activities and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Administration
