About the role
Lead the data strategy and teams responsible for Apple's ESCI data foundation, the system of record for labor, human rights, supplier readiness, environment, and related reporting. Own end-to-end product vision from strategy to execution, manage a mixed-maturity portfolio of systems, and align cross-functional partners around priorities while growing a high-performing, people-first team distributed between Cupertino and Austin.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision end-to-end, from strategy and roadmap to hands-on execution with cross-functional teams spanning Product Managers, Designers, Software and Platform Engineers.
- Inherit a portfolio of systems at mixed maturity including environmental metrics and supplier-facing tools.
- Sequence and balance resources and communicate priorities to internal and cross-functional partners.
- Grow and mentor a high-performing team while aligning everyone around a shared vision and navigating trade-offs between user experience, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, delivery timelines, and Apple values.
- Partner closely with Product Design and Manufacturing Design, Supplier Readiness & Development and Environment program teams, Legal and Regulatory, Reporting and Communications, and Business Assurance and Internal Audit.
- Travel periodically internationally (Shanghai, Europe) to connect with in-region counterparts, supplier-facing teams, and end users who depend on the data.
- Lead initiatives ensuring data governance, traceability, and audit-readiness in line with Apple’s standards.
Qualifications
- 10+ years managing software engineering or product teams
- 5+ years leading a combined Product and Engineering organization with full cross-functional ownership across Product Management, Design, and Engineering
- Proven track record in change management
- Strong understanding of software development, APIs, and platform/infrastructure concepts
- Experience defining and delivering a product vision across multiple applications, including modernization or replacement of mature systems
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems and evolving regulatory requirements into clear product solutions
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across functions (legal, communications, audit/assurance) and presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with auditing systems, assessment workflows, reporting or assurance standards, and data integrity/traceability requirements
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with supply chain, supplier responsibility, labor and human rights, or social impact data and systems
- Experience in manufacturing or environmental systems
- Experience with third-party audit, assurance, or certification processes
- Experience building or overseeing AI agent development
- Experience working with international teams or counterparts
