About the role

Associate Merchant, Active responsible for expanding and managing the Active product assortment at Quince, driving assortment strategy, revenue, margins, and growth with a data-driven, quality-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Active assortment strategy, ensuring the category delivers exceptional quality at accessible prices, in partnership with the Sr. Merchandising Manager
  • Leverage data and customer insights to build, optimize, and scale the assortment — analyzing performance, refining product mix, and making evidence-based decisions to meet customer needs and achieve financial goals
  • Using a data-driven approach, continuously identify whitespace in the assortment and refine product roadmap based on new information and learnings using various tools and AI to support continued high growth
  • Leverage data for ratings, reviews, and return rates to diagnose quality improvements and drive fixes with PD and Sourcing
  • Own and maintain accurate product data in PLM and other internal tools
  • Partner closely with Product Development and Sourcing to identify and develop new products, with a focus on performance, sustainability, and the highest quality materials and craftsmanship
  • Collaborate with marketing, site, and creative teams to ensure compelling product launches and storytelling that reflect brand positioning

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of apparel merchandising experience. Active performance apparel strongly preferred
  • 3 days per week in office in San Francisco, CA
  • E-commerce experience and/or DTC with product creation experience preferred
  • Proven track record of progression within an organization and growth in roles and responsibilities
  • Product obsessed with experience in leveraging data tools and external sources
  • Critical eye to anticipate customer needs (science and art of retail merchandising)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and analytical with focus on execution, problem-solving, improving processes and brand enhancement
  • Continuous learner and highly curious; proactive when facing added challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated by fast-paced collaborative environment with flexibility to stretch into/out of functional comfort zones
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
