About the role
Quality & Reliability team embedded in the full vehicle lifecycle, delivering supplier quality support, audits, and process improvements to enable rapid hardware iteration and reliable production for Hermeus aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Hermeus Quality support for Supply Chain, partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Subcontract Management, Program Management, and suppliers.
- Travel ~50% to supplier sites to facilitate development activities, remedial actions, and conduct supplier audits.
- Provide Quality support to the Supply Chain team for qualification and ASL-onboarding of new suppliers.
- Support inspection of components to internal and industry standards to determine part conformity and drive RCCA via SCARs for nonconformances.
- Perform documentation review and verification of supplier certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements.
- Approve or reject items and documents based on inspection results.
- Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies, documentation issues, and packaging damage.
- Use electronic MES/QMS to document issues and route parts/workflows.
- Support ongoing QMS development, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Escalate roadblocks to leadership to ensure delivery and on-time receipt status.
- Apply process improvement methodologies to reduce supplier quality issues and increase production rates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in aviation or aerospace manufacturing/quality environment
- Minimum of 3 years in Supplier Quality or similar supplier-facing roles.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, enthusiasm for innovation and mission of improving reliability in cutting-edge technology
- Strong communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents.
- Strong command of quality tools (RCCA, FMEA, 8D, SPC, etc.).
- Ability to travel up to ~50%
- Comfort with hands-on hardware on the floor (stooping, bending, lifting, standing)
