About the role

Frontend-led architectural role responsible for the W&B Models frontend, focusing on architecture, performance, and cross-team collaboration to deliver a fast, stable, and scalable UI for AI model tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Setting performance targets and driving the work that meets them, with results proven in production data
  • Deciding the app's delivery and rendering architecture, including how code is delivered efficiently
  • Partnering with backend and platform teams on API design, including moving work out of the client
  • Proposing and driving the larger overhauls that incremental work cannot reach
  • Owns the architecture, performance, and stability of the W&B Models frontend and manages cross-team requirements within the Models system

Qualifications

  • 8+ years building user-facing software, with deep expertise in frontend architecture and performance
  • Led transformation of a large, long-lived React application with a focus on performance, product impact and dev experience
  • Strong command of React and TypeScript, with production experience in GraphQL and a modern state management approach such as Redux or Zustand
  • Real performance engineering skill: instrumenting applications, reading traces, and proving improvements with data
  • Solid client-side caching fundamentals, including normalization, invalidation, and scale considerations
  • Hands-on experience with bundlers/build tooling, and views on code splitting and delivery tradeoffs
  • Enough backend depth to design high-level APIs and reason about frontend implications
  • Track record of coordinating across engineering teams and sequencing cross-boundary work
  • Operator mindset: measure, ship, follow through, and stay close to production
