About the role

Senior full stack software engineer contributing to web applications with Python, Java, and Rust backends and React/Vue frontend, owning complex problems across frontend, API, and data layers, including MCP AI tooling and internal services.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the technical direction and implementation of complex features spanning microservices architecture (Python, Java, Rust) and frontend interfaces (React, Vue, or server-rendered templates)
  • Design scalable APIs, data models, and service architectures — including internal MCP servers that expose tools and data to AI systems
  • Drive features through their full lifecycle: from concept and design through deployment and operational excellence
  • Apply and help raise engineering best practices across the full stack — frontend architecture, API design, testing strategies, and performance
  • Identify technical risks and dependencies early; develop mitigation strategies and drive resolution
  • Mentor and share knowledge with colleagues across both frontend and backend disciplines
  • Contribute to cross-organization initiatives, expanding impact beyond the immediate team
  • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to inform roadmap priorities and technical direction
  • Lead post-incident reviews and drive improvements in reliability and operational quality
  • Evaluate and integrate AI services and capabilities — such as MCP-based tooling — to enhance user experience
  • Contribute to hiring: interview candidates, calibrate the technical bar across the stack

Qualifications

  • Deep proficiency in Rust/Python/Java for backend microservice development, with strong API design skills
  • Frontend experience with Typescript and a modern framework (React or Vue) and/or server-rendered templates
  • Solid knowledge of database design — relational and non-relational
  • Solid knowledge of containerization technologies and Kubernetes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and mentor other engineers
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience building highly scalable services using Rust
  • Experience building and operating production web applications at scale
  • Experience building MCP servers or other AI tooling and service integration
  • Understanding of RAG architectures
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and site reliability practices
  • Track record of driving engineering quality improvements across a team
