About the role

Hardware test engineer responsible for building and developing test systems for the next generation of iPhone, leading debugging of HW/SW issues, collaborating with internal teams and contract manufacturers, and driving design-for-testability and innovative testing methods across the iPhone main logic boards and form factors.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, test and development of the next generation iPhone from concept to mass production
  • Develop main logic board and system-level HW tests for connectivity, functionality, calibration etc.
  • Perform result review, data analysis, post-processing, and related tools development

Qualifications

  • B.S. (or M.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience
  • Understand basic HW designs including schematics, data sheet, inter-comm protocols
  • Good coding skills in C/C++, Python, Shell, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • Understand best practices for HW test setup, measurement and execution
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, experienced in designing embedded microcontroller systems, analog instrumentation, DC power supplies etc.
  • Proficiency in data post-processing and visualization
  • Direct experience in high-volume computers, mobile devices, or consumer electronics
  • A naturally curious mind paired with both intuitive and rigorous problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of algorithms, machine learning, or artificial intelligence (AI) is a strong plus
  • Experience with OS services, specifically in kernel or driver development and debugging; familiarity with BSD/Mach-like kernels is a plus
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience
