About the role

Engineer on the UI Frameworks team designing and developing features and APIs across SwiftUI and UIKit to improve correctness, performance, and polish across Apple platforms. Collaborates with compiler engineers, interface designers, and technical writers to shape the developer experience and empower developers, from research and API design through testing, documentation, and adoption guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop features and APIs across SwiftUI and UIKit that impact all of Apple’s platforms
  • Carry ideas through all stages of development: initial research, API design and proposals, testing and development in Swift, documentation, and guidance to adopters
  • Engage in discussions with team members and other domain experts to shape improvements to frameworks
  • Improve correctness, performance, and polish of apps across Apple platforms while making it easier for beginners and empowering advanced developers
  • Collaborate with Swift, Xcode, design, and framework teams across the software stack

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Swift (or the capacity to become proficient quickly)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and explain complex ideas clearly
  • Experience with at least one of the following: native or web app development, framework and API development, graphics and animation systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • High standards for quality and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn and grow, keeping pace with cutting edge technologies
