About the role

Software engineering role focusing on building high-quality, scalable cloud-based data solutions within Apple’s AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) team. Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and shipping components that integrate open source and Apple’s internal ecosystem to power data exploration, analytics, reporting, and production models at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Drive development of new components and features from concept to release: design, build, test, and ship at a regular cadence.
  • Work closely with internal customers to understand requirements and workflows, and propose features to streamline their experience on the platform.
  • Write code and develop applications on cloud; tune and debug codebase, support production applications and end users.
  • Integrate open source software with Apple’s internal ecosystem and contribute to various initiatives.
  • Possibly design RESTful APIs, ETL, queues and notification services as part of cloud-based data applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3 or more years of experience building enterprise-level data applications on distributed systems
  • Knowledge of BI concepts and implementation experience on Cloud with databases like Snowflake or BigQuery
  • Programming experience in Python, Scala or Java
  • Experience in developing highly optimized SQLs, procedures & semantic processes for distributed data applications
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing platforms like Snowflake is highly valued
  • Experience developing Big Data applications using Java, Spark, Kafka is a huge plus
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving
  • Cloud technology experience on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
  • Data Visualization Tools experience (Streamlit, Superset, Tableau, Business Objects, Looker)
  • Experience generating and visualizing data insights, metrics, and KPIs; basic ML models in anomaly detection, forecasting, GenAI
