About the role

Forward-Deployed AI Engineer — Enterprise AI based in Bengaluru, India. Join the initial team to own outcomes end-to-end for enterprise-grade AI solutions, working hybrid with 3 days in office.

Responsibilities

  • Find the Problem Worth Solving: Work directly with customers to navigate ambiguity, uncover high-value opportunities, translate complex business needs into clear technical direction.
  • Build Beyond the Frontier: Architect and build production AI systems, including multi-agent workflows, orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory and state, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and distributed systems.
  • Own the Outcome: Lead solutions from discovery through deployment and measurable impact, with hands-on responsibility for evaluation, observability, security, reliability, latency, scalability, and cost.

Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years of deep production engineering experience building and operating sophisticated software systems, with Python, backend systems, APIs, databases, distributed systems, system design, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on agentic AI experience building production LLM and agent systems using orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory and state, retrieval, and multistep workflows.
  • Strong retrieval depth with experience in embeddings, vector and hybrid search, reranking, evaluation, and diagnosing retrieval quality.
  • End-to-end systems ownership from architecture through deployment and scale, with evaluation, observability, reliability, security, guardrails, latency, scalability, and cost considerations.
  • Exceptional customer and technical leadership with ability to enter unfamiliar environments, earn trust, navigate ambiguity, and communicate with senior engineers and executives.
  • Client-ready communication to explain technical concepts, navigate ambiguity, and work with stakeholders.
