About the role

Waymo internship in Systems Engineering focused on depot automation. Hybrid onsite internship in San Francisco, developing data pipelines and dashboards to support depot operations, with collaboration to gather requirements and ensure real-time situational awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize low-latency data pipelines using C++ and SQL to ingest and structure realtime depot telemetry.
  • Develop a modern, responsive frontend dashboard that visualizes operations data, prioritizing a seamless user experience for operations staff.
  • Collaborate directly with triage engineers and ops staff to gather requirements, iterate on designs, and ensure the tool meets ground-level situational awareness needs.
  • Write robust, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on test-driven development, integration testing, and team code reviews

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
  • Data Architecture & Processing: Demonstrated capability in conceptualizing and writing efficient data transformation pipelines (C++/SQL).
  • Full-Stack & UI Implementation: Experience converting backend data streams into actionable, user-centric visualizations.
  • Testing Rigor: Strong grasp of integration testing and ensuring reliability in critical systems.
