About the role

Grindr seeks a Staff Product Manager, Growth to build Grindr’s growth function across the user lifecycle, partnering with the Head of Growth to drive acquisition, activation, reactivation, retention, and churn prevention in a hybrid, multi-city setting.

Responsibilities

  • Help build Grindr’s growth product function from the ground up, defining how we identify, prioritize, and deliver on opportunities across the user lifecycle.
  • Develop and drive a multi-quarter roadmap spanning user acquisition, activation, retention, reactivation, and churn prevention.
  • Improve the new user experience from App Store discovery through onboarding and the first week on Grindr.
  • Build better re-onboarding experiences for returning users and create new ways for less active users to find value and connection.
  • Partner with Data Science to deepen our understanding of DAU and MAU, identify where users enter, drop off, return, and build lasting engagement, and translate those insights into product priorities.
  • Lead discovery, experimentation, launch, and iteration across high-impact growth initiatives, balancing quantitative signals with deep user understanding.
  • Work with Marketing on App Store optimization and lifecycle capabilities, including platforms such as Braze and AppsFlyer, while partnering with international teams on global growth opportunities.
  • Create clarity across ambiguous problem spaces, align senior stakeholders around priorities and tradeoffs, and hold the work accountable to measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Several years of hands-on product management experience, including ownership of complex consumer products from strategy through launch and iteration.
  • A record of defining and delivering multi-quarter product strategies that improved activation, engagement, retention, or another meaningful user outcome.
  • Strong analytical judgment, including experience using product data, experimentation, and behavioral insights to identify opportunities and make decisions.
  • Deep user orientation and strong research instincts, with the ability to connect qualitative insight and quantitative evidence.
  • Experience leading cross-functional work with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and other partners in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to operate independently, create structure from ambiguity, and influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and strong product judgment, including the ability to make tradeoffs and explain what matters, what does not, and why.
