About the role

Internship at AMD for software engineering with hands-on experience, mentorship, and training across the software development lifecycle. Full-time onsite in Edinburgh, UK for the duration of the internship starting June 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications
  • Receive training on the full software creation process from design to testing and deployment
  • Create scripts to automate parts of the software development process
  • Learn debugging methodologies to investigate root causes of software issues
  • Craft technical/functional documents and reports as needed in certain projects

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a UK-based University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with C++ (or equivalent) programming language
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Tcl or Python
  • Interest in Hardware Design tools and methodologies
  • Experience with Verilog and/or VHDL languages
  • Familiarity with FPGA or ACAP architectures and flows
