About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer at Field AI responsible for deploying, integrating, and maintaining autonomous systems in real-world customer environments, with emphasis on field operations, reliability, and enabling customer adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Field Deployment & Operations: Lead end-to-end deployment of autonomous systems in customer environments, ensure configuration/testing/operation in real-world conditions, troubleshoot issues to maintain uptime and mission success.
  • System Reliability & Performance: Gather/analyze field feedback, drive enhancements with product/engineering teams, implement monitoring/diagnostics for sustained reliability.
  • Customer Enablement & Adoption: Train and support operators, translate technical concepts into actionable workflows, accelerate adoption and long-term value realization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the voice of the customer to engineering/product teams, collaborate across software/hardware/AI research for integrated solutions, contribute to scalable deployment playbooks.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration in Field Robotics industry.
  • Experience in field deployment of complex technical systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Git, ROS.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across software, hardware, and networking layers.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
