About the role

Lead and manage the regional new product introduction and ramp activities for Apple products in Asia, coordinating across functions, OEM partners, and design teams to achieve goals in time to market, cost, quality, availability, and order cycle time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational side of development builds during new product introductions for assigned products.
  • Lead Apple team's new product introduction efforts during ramp within the Operations sphere; drive issue resolution, supply chain design, schedule, cost, quality, availability and order cycle time goals.
  • Engage with OEM manufacturing partners to develop, ramp, and introduce products; develop rapport with partners and knowledge of factory capabilities and limitations.
  • Lead matrix team members from across all functions in Asia within Operations to develop new product plans (e.g., WW Planning, Global Supply Managers, Technical Program Manager, Quality, Supplier Quality Engineer, Test Engineer, Design For Manufacturing).
  • Represent operations with product design teams; influence and negotiate for DFX, supply chain, testability, and product features.
  • Identify, marshal and organize resources (Apple Staff, OEM Staff, Contractors) to meet goals.
  • Communicate project status updates to project partners and executives; synthesize issues into clear and concise messages; present with confidence.
  • Push innovation and excellence in product and program management practices; support coverage on other products in the region as needed, including travel for issue resolution and ramp activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years operations experience, preferably in a high tech or computer-related industry.
  • Current knowledge of extraordinary supply chain management practices.
  • Experience with consumer electronic manufacturing technologies in design, process, commodity cost, factory cost, supply and quality management.
  • MBA or MS preferred; combination of formal education and experience in Engineering and business acceptable.
  • Track record of delivering significant results on sophisticated projects in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving solutions to challenges.
  • Strong drive, motivation, and energy; excellent analytical capabilities with business savvy.
  • Knowledge of massive data analysis; machine learning knowledge would be a plus.
  • Exceptional Mandarin Chinese and English communication skills (verbal, written, executive presentations).
  • Ability to establish relationships and influence in a matrix organization; strategic thinking with tactical execution.
  • Attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture; ability to operate in ambiguity and take charge in leadership gaps.
  • Experience in operations or technical program management roles preferred.
