About the role

Lead the operational side of development builds and new product introductions within Apple Operations in Asia, coordinating cross-functional teams, external OEM partners, and regional stakeholders to achieve on-time, on-budget, high-quality product ramps and launches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational side of development builds during new product introductions for assigned products.
  • Lead Apple team's new product introduction efforts during ramp within the Operations sphere. Achieve goals in issue resolution, supply chain design, schedule, cost, quality, availability, and order cycle time.
  • Engage with OEM manufacturing partners to develop, ramp, and introduce products. Develop rapport with partners and knowledge of factory workings, capabilities and limitations.
  • Lead matrix team members from across all functions in Asia within Operations to develop new product plans (WW Planning, Global Supply Managers, Technical Program Manager, Quality, Supplier Quality Engineer, Test Engineer, DFM).
  • Represent operations with the product design teams; influence and negotiate for DFX, supply chain, testability, product features.
  • Identify, marshal and organize resources (Apple Staff, OEM Staff, Contractors, etc.) to meet goals.
  • Communicate project status updates to project partners, including teams and executives within Apple and OEMs; synthesize issues into clear messages and present confidently.
  • Push the Leading edge of innovation and excellence in Apple products and program management practices.
  • Support coverage in other products in the region; travel as needed to drive issue resolution and support build/ramp activities.
  • Lead all aspects of new product development and product launch within Operations in Asia; accountable for time-to-market, cost, quality, product availability, and order cycle time.
  • Serve as primary leader and interface between Operations, Product Design, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years ops experience, preferably in a high tech or computer-related industry.
  • Current knowledge of extraordinary supply chain management practices.
  • Experience with consumer electronic manufacturing technologies in design, process, commodity cost, factory cost, supply and quality management.
  • An MBA or MS (preferred); equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Track record achieving significant results on sophisticated projects in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving solutions to challenges.
  • Strong drive, motivation, and energy to complete challenges.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with good business savvy.
  • Exceptional communication skills in Mandarin Chinese & English (verbal, written, and executive presentations).
  • Exceptional ability to establish relationships and exert effective influence in a matrix organization.
  • Strategic thinking with capability to drive tactical program execution.
  • Attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment and take charge in the absence of leadership.
  • Experience in operations or technical program management roles preferred.
