About the role

Research internship focused on breakthrough innovations in machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, and related areas with emphasis on 3D reconstruction, depth estimation, neural rendering, view synthesis, and image/video synthesis. Collaboration with world-class researchers, publication goals, and potential open-source releases.

Responsibilities

  • Identify promising research opportunities; review state-of-the-art literature; craft novel approaches; implement code prototypes; plan and run large-scale experiments across multi-node, multi-GPU systems; write a paper and submit it to conferences/journals; collaborate with researchers outside the internship location; publish new findings as open source code and/or publications.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, data science, applied mathematics, or equivalent
  • End of internship requires returning to school or internship being the last graduation requirement
  • Solid software engineering skills in complex, multi-language systems; Fluency in Python
  • Experience with PyTorch
  • Proven research expertise in machine learning and/or computer vision
  • Publication record in relevant conferences (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, etc)
  • Ability to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutions
  • Ability to work in a diverse collaborative environment
  • Strong mathematical skills in linear algebra, probability, optimization and statistics
  • Action oriented
  • Strong overall software development approach; clean, well-tested code
  • Research experience in 3D reconstruction, neural rendering, view synthesis, image & video synthesis
