About the role

Engineer responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving global production traffic infrastructure for Wallets, Payments, and Commerce traffic with a focus on reliability, observability, and privacy/security.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest level of up-time and quality of service to Apple’s customers through operational quality.
  • Design, maintain, and improve global production traffic infrastructure.
  • Ownership of reliability issues using a wide variety of tools.
  • Identify areas to improve service resiliency through techniques such as chaos engineering, performance / load testing, and game days.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years cloud engineering
  • Experience with load balancing (Nginx, Envoy and Envoy Gateway), proxies (Squid) and edge deployments.
  • Familiarity with Networking, Security, Logging, and Application Monitoring
  • Maintaining customer commitments
  • Navigating the complexities of the business and service reliability
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to coach & mentor other ICs
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, related field, or 10 years of equivalent work experience is highly desirable.
