About the role

Senior data engineer role focused on building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and models for iCloud insights within Apple Services Data Science & Analytics. Collaborates with insights engineering and data science teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data for reporting and decision-making while shaping data governance and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize data pipelines and data models for iCloud insights across product and customer touchpoints.
  • Ensure reliable, high-quality data for DS&A and stakeholder teams to drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Improve automation and reliability of core iCloud data workflows.
  • Surface patterns across iCloud storage, subscription, engagement, and commerce data to ensure consistent reporting.
  • Help shape how iCloud data is structured, governed, and delivered to improve data quality, coverage, and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence roles with complex data pipelines and data models at scale
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and experience querying and analyzing internet-scale data and very large datasets
  • Advanced proficiency with Python or similar languages, and experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
  • Experience with data engineering tools and concepts including pipeline development, data model design, and aggregation strategies for analytics and reporting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Strong time management skills to balance multiple projects with competing priorities
  • BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience in a fast-paced tech company, digital subscription business, or e-commerce data ecosystems
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, or metadata management concepts
