About the role

AI/ML Engineer to design and develop AI-enhanced security systems that help researchers navigate codebases, reason about attack surfaces, and identify weaknesses across the full stack of Apple products. Role involves producing production-grade security tools, collaborating with researchers, and applying frontier ML methods to improve Apple’s security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI-enhanced security systems to aid researchers in navigating vast codebases and identifying weaknesses.
  • Develop tools that complement fuzzing, static and dynamic analysis, code review, and other security techniques.
  • Work across the full stack (custom silicon, firmware, kernels, system frameworks, browsers, and user applications) to harden products.
  • Stay current with state-of-the-art AI research and translate viable ideas into production-grade security tools.
  • Participate in real security evaluations to ensure practical impact of the systems.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning) and evaluation methods
  • Hands-on experience with agents design and frameworks, including MCP/tools, observability, evaluations, and self-improvement loops
  • Strong software engineering and programming skills in Python, C, C++, Swift and Objective-C
  • Collaborative and effective problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience scaling LLM training and fine-tuning (pretraining, SFT, alignment)
  • Strong enthusiasm for security
  • Familiarity with software-analysis techniques such as fuzzing, static analysis, code-analysis tooling, reverse engineering and binary-analysis
