About the role

SRE role at Apple focused on devops practices, scalability, reliability and performance of Apple B2B systems, with machine learning model lifecycle in production, anomaly detection, and collaboration with supply chain partners.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain best-in-class devops practices for Apple B2B systems.
  • Manage the lifecycle of machine learning models in production and non-production environments.
  • Continuously assess and improve system processes, detect anomalies, identify optimization opportunities, and implement solutions to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical groups within Apple and with external supply chain partners.
  • Support internet-facing production services and distributed systems via deployments, on-call, and incident management.
  • Coordinate telemetry and monitoring using tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Build and operate container orchestration systems like Kubernetes or EKS.
  • Work with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused roles.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
  • Experience deploying and supporting internet-facing production services and distributed systems (on-call and incident management).
  • Proficiency in telemetry and observability tooling (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus or similar).
  • Experience solving and resolving issues in Kubernetes from OS and application perspectives.
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience building and operating container orchestration systems (Kubernetes or EKS).
  • Strong Java programming experience for web, middleware, or backend applications.
  • Deep understanding of relational databases (Oracle or similar) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
  • Experience in performance tuning of applications and databases.
  • Knowledge of HTTP/S, TCP, DNS, and web application load balancing.
  • Understanding of basic security concepts and protocols (authentication, authorization, signing, encryption, SSL/TLS, SSH/SFTP, PKI, X509 certificates, PGP).
