About the role

Senior engineer role on Apple Find My team focusing on architecting and implementing highly available, large-scale deployment solutions and microservices. Collaborates with product, SRE, and other engineering teams to build tools, mentors junior engineers, and helps scale Find My microservices across multi-cloud environments, delivering reliable experiences to hundreds of millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement highly available, large-scale deployment solutions that are scalable and reliable.
  • Partner with product, SRE and other engineering teams to bring systems to life by building necessary tools.
  • Mentor junior engineers, contribute to design and code reviews, and help shape how Find My microservices scale into the future.
  • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to tackle complex distributed systems challenges at global scale.
  • Communicate complex infrastructure concepts to technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of strong software development experience and 5+ years of experience in working with cloud architectures
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Strong software development experience with Java and experience with Python, Go or Bash for automation and tooling
  • Hands-on experience with cloud architectures including networking and native services
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) architecture, container runtimes, and Helm for package management
  • Deep understanding of network security, firewalls, encryption at rest and in transit, IAM roles, and secret management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, cloud native secret managers)
  • Hands-on experience with observability and integrating with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Splunk
  • Proficiency with Terraform or similar technologies, writing modular, reusable code for multi-environment setups
  • Skilled at identifying architectural gaps and driving solutions across partner teams
  • Hands-on experience in building and integrating with microservices
  • Hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure)
  • Experience leveraging LLMs or AI tooling for operational automation and workflow optimization
  • Strong ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Proven track record of leading and managing enterprise-level projects or multi-functional engineering initiatives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
