About the role
Full-Stack Engineer role at ShortKit focusing on media infrastructure at scale, mobile SDKs, AI infrastructure, and customer integrations. Remote (US) with salary and equity incentives.
Responsibilities
- Media infrastructure at scale: ingest, process, transcode, and deliver media; improve reliability, performance, observability, and efficiency as usage grows.
- Mobile SDKs and playback: iterate on native iOS/Android SDKs and React Native / Flutter integrations; extend APIs and tooling for developers.
- AI infrastructure: build data pipelines and services for recommendations and AI-powered media features.
- Customer integrations: work with customer engineering teams from implementation to production; debug, write integration code, and improve APIs, SDKs, tooling, diagnostics, and docs.
Qualifications
- Shipped software used by real users; able to take a loosely defined problem from investigation through production.
- Strong backend or full-stack fundamentals (APIs, databases, distributed/asynchronous systems, debugging).
- Experience with production systems where scale and reliability matter; comfort with performance, observability, and failure modes.
- Willingness to work deeply in mobile code; Swift or Kotlin experience valuable; curiosity to learn unfamiliar systems.
- Enjoy working directly with other developers; ability to own a problem through resolution and communicate tradeoffs.
- Focus on both system behavior and the user/developer experience: latency, reliability, playback, helpful errors, and meaningful APIs.
- Prudent shipping: when to fix vs. durable architectural solutions.
