About the role

Internship position supporting loads and dynamics for supersonic aircraft programs, partnering with aerodynamics and structures teams to develop external loads, dynamic simulations, testing validation, and flutter evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Solve structural static and dynamic problems through hand calculations, finite element analysis, or test data
  • External loads definition from flight maneuvers, gust, takeoff and landing for use in structural design and analysis
  • Generation of vehicle finite element model to assess static and dynamic load cases
  • Characterization of aeroelastic effects such as flutter
  • Definition of random vibration environments from buffet and engine dynamics

Qualifications

  • Practical experience through internships, studies or projects
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program)
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
