About the role

Backend Engineer position at Lendbuzz in Tel Aviv (TLV R&D). Join the backend group to expand the backend system, build architecture for new products, and drive technical direction in a high-growth fintech environment. Hybrid, full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend system from the ground up.
  • Design and collaborate with the engineering team to build architecture and system design for new products.
  • Build internal products and integrate with external APIs.
  • Play a role in building, expanding, testing and releasing of a product helping thousands happy customers.
  • Leverage AI coding assistants to boost productivity, while maintaining strict code quality, security, and critical review standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Top-tier university degree with a GPA of 85+ / Graduated with honors is a strong plus).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development.
  • Strong programming skills, with expertise in Python.
  • Deep understanding and proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
  • Experience designing and integrating with APIs (RESTful services).
  • Knowledge in testing methodologies
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable: Experience or a strong desire to incorporate AI dev tools into your daily workflow, combined with the critical thinking needed to review and validate AI-generated code.
  • Independent, proactive, with great interpersonal skills.
